The divisional commander and nephew of the chief of Jaish-e-Mohammad, were among the three youth gunned down by Indian forces in an encounter in Occupied-Kashmir, Asian News Agency said.
According to a statement by JeM spokesperson, the three separatists killed in the encounter at Kandi Aglar village of Pulwama district included Talha Rasheed, nephew of Masood Azhar, and Muhammad Bhai, divisional commander of the separatist organisation and Waseem, a non-local resident of Drubgam Pulwama.
According to Kashmir Media Services, massive protests and clashes between Kashmiri and Indian troops broke out following the killing of the three youth.
Last month, Indian forces said they shot dead a separatist leader of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in a clash in held Kashmir. He was trapped in a house after throwing a grenade at a police checkpoint in the northern village of Ladoora.
Freedom fighters have for decades fought Indian troops in the restive territory, demanding independence or a merger with Pakistan. The fighting has left tens of thousands dead, mostly civilians.
