A Japanese citizen fell to his death from the roof of a hotel building in Multan on Thursday.
The man, identified as Oka Makara, fell from the third floor of a hotel in Multan’s Tariq Road area, Express News reported. The Japanese citizen was working on a development project in Dera Ghazi Khan.
Police said they found a letter from his room. However, the police said the letter was written in Japanese and they could not confirm what it said. Makara’s body was shifted to Nishtar Hospital.
On December 5, a pre-dawn fire at Karachi’s Regent Plaza hotel killed at least 11 people, including three foreigners. About 75 people were injured in the incident.
“We have received 11 dead bodies and 75 injured, four women were among the dead,” Seemin Jamali, a doctor at Karachi’s Jinnah hospital said. Most of the victims had suffered from smoke inhalation or suffocated, Jamali said, adding that the deceased include three foreigners.
Police shifted the man’s body to Nishtar Hospital for postmortem. Some people were injured after jumping from windows to escape the blaze.
